Leaving the scenic delights of Paris behind, you’ll soon find that Normandy is just as charming. Stopping at Vernon, you’re just a stone’s throw from the beautiful house and gardens of Claude Monet at Giverny. Back in Vernon, meanwhile, you’ll discover an endearing town lined with half-timbered houses medieval streets and a lovely 12th century gothic church.
Bateaux Parisiens Seine Cruise
Bateaux Parisiens is one of the largest and most popular Seine cruise companies in Paris. It offers sightseeing cruises along the Seine past top attractions like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral. Bateaux Parisiens also provides lunch, dinner, and entertainment cruises on board their fleet of glass-topped boats.
– Dinner cruise by Paris Seine
With a dedicated team and 40 years of history, they offer sightseeing trips, group cruises, and private events, focusing on more unique, lesser-known parts of Paris. If you're looking for a more intimate, cozy, and smaller-scale cruising experience, Vedettes de Paris is the perfect choice compared to sightseeing cruises, which handle massive crowds daily. Then in 2017 I decided to do another Seine river cruise with Laurence as he had never done one before. Our decision was made simple on this visit as we were traveling with the Paris Pass and we were able to get free tickets with our pass for this cruise. For my first Seine River boat tour in 2012 with then partner Ethan, we prioritized location, followed by price, and then narration.
🚢1. Eiffel Tower, Seine River Dinner Cruise, Moulin Rouge Show
This tour gets things off to a fairy-tale start with a lamp-lit river cruise, before moving on to a coach or minivan tour that stops by landmarks like the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe. This unique river cruise in Paris includes some of the Paris favourites you see in the movies. So you can stop for an iconic picture and you'll also get a 60-minute cruise along the Seine thrown in. You'll also see more of the city’s famous bridges and other historical landmarks on the cruise, making for a fun-packed but truly relaxing day out.
Yes, it’s strongly recommend to book tickets in advance online for your preferred date/time. Common Eiffel Tower embarkation docks include Port de la Bourdonnais, just east of the landmark, and Port de Suffren to the west. Using these ports, your boat can head straight under the Eiffel Tower shortly after departure for great views. Another top departure point is Port Saint Paul by Notre Dame in the heart of Paris near lively shops and cafes.

This Seine River cruise hop-on, hop-off is the less touristy option available on the Seine River, without audio commentary. It is a great alternative to the classic Paris hop-on hop-off bus because it avoids the traffic jams on the streets of Paris. They are the big double-decker boats with orange seats sailing on the River. Many boat companies are working on the River Seine, and they all cover the same itinerary, more or less. The difference between them remains in the starting point, the options, and of course, the experience onboard. Your Seine river cruise will also pass through more than 20 bridges – some of them are the most famous bridges in France, like the Pont Neuf, the Pont Alexandre III, and the Pont des Arts.

The final destination is the world-renowned Moulin Rouge, where you’ll get to enjoy one of its legendary Féerie shows as well as a glass of bubbly. It serves as an ideal starting point for exploring vibrant neighborhoods such as Le Marais and Bastille known for their lively cafes, trendy boutiques, and picturesque streets. Situated in the 15th arrondissement of Paris is Port de Javel Bas – another noteworthy docking point for river cruise ships. As well as dinner, Bateaux Mouches® also provide lunch cruises or simple boat tours to explore Paris from the Seine.
Capitaine Fracasse dinner cruise: review, price, menu
Many cruise companies offer discounted multi-ride packages like a 1-day Big Bus pass with a 1-hour Vedettes du Pont Neuf cruise, making it easy to tour around different Paris neighborhoods. The Lunch Cruise allow you enjoy a gourmet multi-course French meal while floating past Parisian monuments. Meal options range from buffets to set menus paired with quality French wines. A boat cruise is a relaxed, calm way to take in the sights of Paris compared to a rushed walking tour or hectic metro trips.
Having A Marvellous Time !
In addition to dinner cruises, some cruise companies offer brunch, lunch, and special themed cruises that also serve food. During holidays (e.g., Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Bastille Day), you’ll find a number of special cruises and menus being offered. The cost of a meal cruise generally ranges from about 50 € to 200 € per person. Lunch and brunch cruises are usually less expensive than dinner cruises and specialty themed cruises.
This time the weather cooperated and we were able to sit outside and enjoy the views. Towards the end we also moved inside and listed to the commentary. The Bateaux Parisiens boats are larger than those by the Vedettes du Pont Neuf and it was more crowded than my first experience but there was plenty of space to sit and move around. Third, the live narration was preferred by us over pre-recorded narration although honestly it rained (unfortunately!) and it was difficult to hear the guide during parts of our cruise because of the rain.

Please note that depending on where you want to go, there may be some walking involved to get there from the port stop. For instance, the stop closest to the Eiffel Tower requires a 15-minute walk to get to the monument from the boat stop. Tickets can be purchased online, at any of the 9 Batobus stops, tourist information offices, or at the Paris L’Open Tour Boutique (3 rue Auber, Paris). The boats stop at each stop every 20 to 25 minutes depending on the season.
Here you have the choice to either disembark where your tour began, or near the Louvre. This budget-friendly option allows you to view Paris’s most celebrated landmarks from the comfort of your seat—no extravagant add-ons, just the essentials. All our dishes are cooked by our own chefs using seasonal products in our boats’ modern kitchens.
